The Dakelh First Nations people of central interior British Columbia have had a thriving and active trade system for thousands of years. This complex system was made up of a system of trails and river networks, which they used on their seasonal round. From the south they traded with the Tsilkot’en and Secwepemc peoples. From the west, they traded with the Nuxalk and other coastal peoples. And to the north, with the Sekani, who in turn traded with the Gitxsan and the Tsimshian.
